I believe there are some universe anomalies that affect Taron’s fame, but I’ll skip to the normal…

I adored Michael J. Fox in “Back to the Future”. I watched any movie with MJF countless times. As an actor he was charming, talented, and special just like Taron.

But MJF played a recurring character. He was more or less Marty McFly in every movie (which I am not complaining). He was very recognizable and became very famous in the 80’s.

I think Taron’s talent to be diverse is what makes him unrecognizable. When my parents watched “Black Bird”, I said, “That’s the guy from Rocketman”. My mom said, “No way”. My dad looks up from his reading glasses confused. They watched “Tetris” and same reaction.

As for me….

—I was zero percent attracted to Henk Rogers.

—Madly in love with Jimmy Keene (must have a good accent because I am American and thought he was too)

—No doubt in my mind the Rocketman character was gay.

—Robin of Loxley—definitely not gay

—Eddie the Eagle was a total nerd.

How does Taron do that?

Perhaps being less noticed helps him stay grounded. And it allows him to go out in public without being attacked (I think).
