I've been on the fence between Tatami Room and Thuma for AGES and finally pulled the trigger on Tatami Room (I preferred the square legs, but may splurge and buy the Thuma pillow board–best of both worlds!).
I'm very pleased so far, but mainly wanted to share info about the wood finish since the photos on their website are low quality.
I ordered the natural finish, which does have a slight gloss. It's a bit lighter than I imagined it would be but a nice neutral tone. To my surprise, the slats and support beam came it what appears to be the honey oak color (perhaps an error on their side). Perfect for showing a side by side for anyone who might be curious!

Ordered the bedframe and headboard on Oct 1, 2024 and received them on February 10, 2025. Super great quality! Feels super sturdy and doesn't creak at all. Absolutely in love with it aside from the fact I chose the wrong color.. Now I need to find a way to sell this before ordering a new one in the right color (honey oak) which means quite some more time before I can fully settle into it. 🤦 Either way, look how pretty! I'm really glad I went with Tatami Room and these styles. Sharing photos here to help anyone else considering ordering because I spent so much time looking at photos of the different colors and styles before ordering myself!

I got my bed from Tatami Room last week too. So much better quality control than Thuma (both visually/aesthetically and mechanically), and much less noisy. I love my new bed. The only saving grace for Thuma is the return policy which I used.

It’s beautiful! I’m sure you’ll find a buyer soon. Do think it’s possible to get a vacuum or broom under there? I’m looking at ordering the same bed, but I’m concerned about cleaning underneath.
