I’m genuinely disturbed by anyone who thinks this song isn’t about Blake. i mean, it makes sense. almost everything has been officially released, minus the bts footage for the music video. the track by track commentary is pretty similar to what she said in the film so 🤷🏻

I don't think it was ever actually planned. I think it's something they put out for PR purposes to make the fans in other countries happy at the time. If it was actually planned, they wouldn't have released most of the content after the 3 day run.

I was just going through all the old posts of 'Life of a Showgirl' opinions, and I've realized that my views on the album have drastically changed. The album, which I started out hating, has such a fresh, summer anthem vibe that constantly gets me up and dancing. I know this album still isn't for everyone, but I was wondering if I was the only one feeling this way.
The Fate of Ophelia, which I thought got boring so quickly- is starting to sound timeless and fresh. Cancelled, which was clowned for dumb lyrics, is kinda hitting. Wish List- I hated it- is now a literal bop, and I'm kind of starting to remember why I love Taylor.
What opinion of yours on the album changed drastically?

( I think a re-listen really helps- I only really realized how much I loved it after re-listening. )
Edit: I 100% think the discourse and attempts at attention-grabbing from Taylor Anti's is what made this album feel so iffy for me. I couldn't really love the album for all it was when ALL I saw online was that it was trash. I remember feeling that Max Martin and Taylor could have done better, but that was the public speaking, not me. I think that she's done it again, and only time will tell how much of a gem Life of a Showgirl really is.

not trying to be that person but i loved it from the very first listen bc it was exactly what i expected! she told us it was going to be bops, and it was. ophelia is probably my favorite upbeat song of hers and the video probably my favorite video she’s directed. and i feel so vindicated that both the album and the single ended up doing so well all these weeks later 😂
