I bought a truck last April. My notice took a couple of weeks to arrive.

You can check the status online and if it’s done you don’t need the actual slip to get it registered.

I purchased a new car and my title complete notice never came, I looked it up on the DMV and it says the title is processed and I got my title # from their site. The issue is— The website prompts me to enter the letter ID of the title complete notice, which I do not have. Who would I call to get it or how can I register without it? My temporary tags expired a few weeks ago and I really don’t like driving with expired tags.

Just go in to the DMV. If the title is complete, it will be in the system.

Hello everyone, I'm trying to register a vehicle online to get license plates for it and the first-time registration page on the CO DMV page asks for the title number and something called a "Letter ID". Can someone point/direct me to where I can find this mythical letter ID? I've tried all sorts of numbers that I see on the title but nothing appears to work. Anyways, looking forward to being able to get plates for my car since my temp tag expires in a week! I appreciate any help in advance!

It's an ID that literally comes on a letter. They're used in tax matters a lot. If you received a letter from the department of revenue or the DMV it'll be in the upper right hand corner of the letter.

It appears to be your VIN . You can always call 3-1-1 though to find out for sure.

How long after submitting payment did your permanent license plates take to arrive by mail? DMV says “up to 21 days”. Our temps expire over the Holiday weekend and we’ll be heading out to Teton (Wyoming) on expired tags. Dealer can’t issue new temps because the Title is registered to Denver. A friend at work said hers were delivered in a week. What’re the odds? We plan to bring the notice and proof of payment/confirmation and will eat the ticket if needed but wondering if anyone else has had a shorter than expected delivery timeframe? TIA!

Check your paperwork from the dealership, I was waiting for ages and the DMV was clueless, ended up I had everything I needed to get a title issued the whole time

Hi! I work at the DMV in DougCo! Are you waiting for plates that you already ordered? The title complete notice doesn’t mean you automatically get plates. If you ordered plates online, they are a bit backed up right now because CCI is doing a prison audit. You can go to your county DMV and get an extension on the temps.

I just received my title complete notice in the mail & when I go to get the license plate online, it says the Title Number and/or Letter ID could not be found. I have checked 50 times to make sure there are no typos. Any tips? I would love to do everything online, but even if I can just see the total amount due before I go to the DMV that would be awesome.

Pretty sure you can only renew online. Need to go to physical location to get new title and plates.
