What criteria were used to determine the top 10 TV series?
Are these series suitable for all age groups?
-
โ No sitcoms allowed!
-
Gotta be finished or have enough seasons
-
Miniseries are series
Main criteria:
Quality + Impact + Memorability
-
The series needs to have left a mark. Whether it's the script, direction, acting, innovation, or cultural influence. It's not just personal taste.
Feel free to argue or not!
(These are the top 10 best tv shows that I have seen in terms of how good the writing, acting, the story, plot, characters and their character arcs are and overall how well made the show is and how enjoyable and meaningful it was to watch it. I will not include shows that are purely based on real life events, such as Chernobyl or Band of brothers for an example. These shows are purely/mostly fictional storytelling not real life events. I will also not include shows that are purely comedy or sitcom like The Office or Trailer park boys or something like that, but shows that are comedy/drama and still have meaningful and serious story behind it besides the comedy are okay.)
1 - Breaking Bad
2 - Better Call Saul
3 - Avatar the last airbender
4 - The Wire
5 - The Sopranos
6 - Game of thrones (The later seasons, including the horrible season 8 lowers this show a bit on the list, otherwise it would be a bit higher)
7 - The Queen's Gambit
8 - Barry (I did not feel the later seasons as much as the first 2)
9 - Rome
10 - Dark
(Honorable mention: Dexter. I wanted to include this as an honorable mention since the first 4 seasons were mostly very good and it was one of my favorite shows, but the show went pretty much downhill from there so I could not include it in the list for that reason, since it was only good in it's peak)
Thanks for seeing my list! Tell me your opinion about it and how would you change the list, also tell me what is your favorite shows and why! If you think my list is not accurate in terms of how good the writing is, tell me that also!
