Where can I find the best food delivery Trumbull offers?
Hi everyone!
I grew up near the Trumbull area (late 80s/early 90s), and some of my earliest and fondest memories are from time spent at the Trumbull Mall. Here's a random smattering (and I'd love to hear yours or see any pics if anyone happens to have any (came across a couple gems here))
A fresh-baked cookie shop, I think it was on a corner/at an angle. It wasn't a main chain like Mrs. Fields. Damn it smelled good lol.
Dream Machine (fairly certain that was the name of it) - amazing comic shop with trading cards.
KB Toys - not much to say except it was amazing lol
A restaurant/shop with oranges in the window display - I'm talking about a freakin WALL of oranges encased in glass/plastic that composed the exterior wall of the shop. I'm pretty sure you could walk in. Not sure if it was an Orange Julius.
The food court - I remember McDonald's opening. I believe there was a Taco Bell as well. And Sbarro. Can't remember much else.
Dept stores - G. Fox! Jordan Marsh, Lord & Taylor, Filene's, Macy's Penney's, etc.
Movie Theater - it was not connected to the mall. Pretty small from what I recall. Saw Beauty and the Beast there!
THE AMAZING FOUNTAIN - it smelled like recycled water and metal (from the coins). But damn was it awesome. Some cool pics here of it: https://thecaldorrainbow.blogspot.com/2007/01/westfield-shoppingtown-trumbull.html - I can't believe they got rid of it
All the trees - the mall had a very park-like interior, with benches and trees. Pretty cool.
Spencer's - man that shit was wild as a kid. I can still smell all the rubber and incense lol. The masks during Halloween really captured my imagination.
A small gift shop / boutique owned by a very sweet Asian lady. I remember she had an imported GI Joe.
Some music stores on the second floor. I believe KB Toys was on the second floor. And I believe the music stores were across and down the corridor. Looking at the logo/sign of Tape World, that may have been one of them.
Woolworth's - I seem to remember a counter you could eat at. It was right off an escalator from what I remember.
I know it sounds cheesy but I'd do anything to go back and just re-experience the mall as it was. I went back a few years ago and it was depressing. Although they invested in it, it lost all of its character. I didn't recognize a single thing. It just felt like every other mall out there with Apple, Sephora, F21, Target, Cheesecake, etc.
