Why Houston Oil Majors Are Hesitant to Go All In on Venezuela
There is a reason why President Trump's methods will never work in America. Take the blanket tariffs as an example. What company is going to spend hundreds of millions or billions of dollars re-shoring factories to the United States when the next president can just wipe out everything Trump does through executive action? Strength in governing in the United States isn't ruling by fiat, it's building consensus, making deals with the other side, and securing majority votes in congress to pass long lasting legislation. If you want to re-engineer governance through a country and have billions invested in complicated infrastructure, that will necessitate a lot of foreign expertise and workers on the ground. There's a lot of talk about revenue 2 years down the track, but who is running the economy today? Are ppl getting paid? Is there law and order, distribution of food, etc? More on reddit.com
