June 17, 2025I'm in the process of linking my YouTube TV account with my TV. A message on my TV says "Almost done! Complete the final steps on your mobile device or computer to start watching." I don't see how to finish this on my phone. There are no more steps. Any ideas?

On your tv, go to settings > general > google cast > allow others to control your cast media : choose "never" install the google home app on your phone, click on the tv device, click the settings gear icon, "let othres control your cast media": never This thread may help I know these are talking about "casting" and you are initiating youtube directly from your tv device but if I remember correctly these options may still affect the behavior you're seeing More on reddit.com

The TV becomes the connected device. You phone becomes a remote control. Instead of casting you might get a better experience with using the native YTTV app on your TV or get a streaming device. More on reddit.com

I just set up a new TV today, and when I go to sign in to the app, I follow the code on the TV log in on my phone and go through the process. My phone says registration complete, but the TV doesn't refresh to go into the app, it's still on the registration screen. If I back out, it asks to go through whole process again. I know it's not the TV because i've been able to setup Disney+ HBO Amazon etc. Kind of lost what I could try next. I've done it both on phone and computer as well as uninstalled the app and reinstalled.
