In before Nazi Republicans blame wokeness for this. I just wish UPS and FedEx were transparent about where the fees are coming from. They make it sound like a random handling fee imo I feel bad for the small businesses that are getting screwed, unless they voted for this that is then I hope they suffer the consequences. You are only meant to be charged GST, their stupid fee for not paying online in advance for 'payment processing', and 10$ under the brokerage line item, for disbursment (paying the feds their GST, as they are legally required to do. Basically pay them to do the job they were supposed to be doing already) The "brokerage entry fee" is the one that is percentile scaling and normally an obscene amount of money, and Virpil have said this particular one is the one that is meant to be waived. In mine, it was, I only payed ~$20 + shipping + GST for my >$2000 order, but I know other Canadians that did have to pay it. Your mileage may (and by the sounds of it from other Canadians, *WILL*,) vary. Greetings from Alberta! Frankly speaking, Virpil has been a great company to interact with, and a great help in all matters. They have wonderful products, the software is powerful and functional(just read the documentation!) and do great work. It is a shame they work with such a shit stain of a company (UPS), because it tarnishes their reputation. UPS will be UPS. P.S. For any companies (virpil too), just because UPS appears on paper the cheapest option for shipping in Canada, doesn't make it so. They ALWAYS find a way to mark up costs and no longer be the cheapest, and are notorious for damaged/stolen packages. Give people an option, many Canadians are so sick of UPS's shit they just won't order if it goes through them. Many others just don't want to give such a predatory shitty company their business.
