Dwarf 3 - purchased a used one, things to know.... - Smart Telescopes - Cloudy Nights
May 2, 2025 - I purchased a used Dwarf 3 recently. it will be arriving shortly and I am wondering if there are things I should check on it to make sure it is a good unit. I am familiar with Astronomy via my 8in Dob and also familiar with photography. But these smart telescopes are a "new" concept to me, so won...

Review: DwarfLab’s DWARF 3 Smart Telescope
August 1, 2025 - While I praised the DWARF II in my review, the DWARF 3 takes image quality to new heights with its larger aperture and superior sensor. I was especially happy to see that the app added multiframe stacking and a scheduling feature.

Debating between Dwarf 3 and Dwarf Mini for Astrophotography and Birding
Mini is focused on Astro functions only. It has limited to nearly nothing to offer for terrestrial based features. They purposely built it as an Astro only in mind travel companion Dwarf 3 is your jack of all trades. More on reddit.com

Is Dwarf 3 the best portable smart telescope?
I don't own all three, but frequent the posts everywhere, and the S50 is easily the best when it comes to detail. Aperture is king. I haven't seen anyone with an S30 or dwarf 3 rivaling what I can do with my S50 (all three of them ;-) ) Be careful referring them to toys as you'll have a lot of angry people taking umbrage with that. Dwarf 3 Review: A $600 Smart Telescope for Astrophotography Beginners - CNET
May 22, 2025 - Overall, I find the app enjoyable and easy to use. As much as I like the astrophotography functions on the Dwarf 3, it takes a bit of work to get stunning images.

Review: Dwarf Lab's New Dwarf 3 Smartscope - Universe Today
June 13, 2025 - We recently had a chance to put Dwarf Lab’s new Dwarf 3 smartscope through its paces, and were impressed with what we've seen thus far. The small telescope even has personality: my wife said it actually looked like Johnny 5 from the 80s movie *Short Circuit* on start up (!) We've also had the chance to use Unistellar and Vaonis units in the past, and were curious to see how the tiny Dwarf 3 would compare.

March 6, 2026 - The Seestar S30 arrived the same week as the DWARF. We will provide an extensive review of this smart telescope, following the DWARF, but a table of the specs has been included below. The DWARF 3 is an impressive package.

DwarfLab Dwarf 3 - The Smallest and Most Versatile Smart Telescope - Full review
February 26, 2026 - Remember that with the DWARF 2, at least when I had it, you had to use a straw to polar align. With the DWARF 3, EQ Mode can be achieved in just a couple of minutes and it’s honestly very easy. With EQ mode activated, you can shoot 60 second exposures and not be limited to 15 seconds max. The Veil Nebula below was taken using 60 second exposures, and as you can see, the stars are round and pinpoint thanks to EQ mode. ... Be sure to watch the review video at the bottom of this post, or go through the course to see all other DSOs I shot with the DWARF 3!

Its performance and ease of use are impressive, but it’s slightly held back by a relatively high price and lack of a tripod. ... Why you can trust Digital Camera World Our expert reviewers ... Dwarf 3 Telescope: test / review
June 21, 2024 - The Dwarf has a wider field and can therefore observe elements in a broader context, while the Seestar can go deeper and also observe dark objects. They both have their pros and cons. I tend to use the Seestar because the app is better and the Seestar offers more flexibility with orientation. ... Hello Laurent, I have read your reviews about the Dwarf III and the Seastar S50.

Review of Dwarf 2 and Dwarf 3
August 15, 2025 - Most of what I’ve written so far in relation to using the Dwarf 2 essentially applies to the Dwarf 3. However, now that I’ve had time to put the Dwarf 3 through its paces for astro targets, there is no doubt that the enhanced features do make a significant difference to both the user experience and results.

Dwarf 3 Smart Telescope: Full Review | High Point Scientific
March 9, 2026 - Before heading out to put the Dwarf 3 to the test, I followed the instructions on the start up guide and downloaded the Dwarf Lab app. This turned out to be a great idea because the app interface isn’t nearly as neat as the packaging, and many of the functions are hidden within other menus. I also used this time to connect my smartphone to the Dwarf 3, explore the basic controls, check for updates, and troubleshoot any potential issues.

Dwarf 3 Smart Telescope Review + Tutorial – Wido's AstroForum
The Dwarf 3 flawlessly located and centered each target, impressively performing despite a minor hiccup with EQ mode. The 10,000 milliampere-hour battery lasted throughout the night and, if needed, can be recharged while the telescope is powered on and in use.

I took the awesome Dwarf III smart telescope on vacation and captured some of my favorite space photos ever
The Dwarflabs Dwarf III smart telescope is a mini marvel. My first astrophotography set-up 10 years ago weighed more than 20kg / 44lbs – but this excellent little self-contained device comes in at a mere 1.3kg / 2.8lbs and is small enough to fit in airline carry-on luggage. In fact, that's exactly what I did with it a few months ago, taking it with me on vacation to Greece. I've also used ... The Dwarf III may be small, but it takes seriously impressive images

r/AskAstrophotography on Reddit: Is Dwarf 3 the best portable smart telescope?
April 27, 2025 -

I'm totally inexperienced with Astro but just learned about smart telescopes and it sounds like they'd be a really fun toy to play with. I live in London so don't get very clear skies, so I like the idea of something very portable which I can bring on holiday to clearer skies. There's no point in investing in a larger setup which can't be easily taken around.

From my research it seems like the two smallest high quality options are the Seestar S30 and the Dwarf 3, and from what I can tell, ignoring cost, the Dwsrf is a better spec. Is this accurate to say? Does anyone have any other recommendations?
