Help me find a comfortable older model SUV for under 10k!
Looking for a used SUV for under $10,000… the cheaper the better!
I would recommend getting a used Nissan Xterra or Toyota 4Runner. Great cars and will last a very long time

Looking to purchase a new SUV, have had a 13 Pathfinder for a while, but it recently was totaled. Looking for a small/midsize SUV that’s under that $10,000 mark but worth the price. Any suggestions?
I've spent way too long trying to figure out what to even look at. I don't have a car and I've never car shopped before. It was always what was a hand-me-down cheap option. It's a big deal to me to be able to finally buy a car after being carless for about 11 years! I'd wait longer but I really need one now and don't want to finance something if I don't have to. I don't commute or even drive daily, however, I LOVE to go camping and don't want to get stuck in the mud or worse so I was hoping for something with offroad capabilities. I'd also love to be able to drive through an occasional snowy road. I'd like something with a good amount of cargo space in case I want to bring my mobility scooter along. I'd prefer 6+ seating but it's not a deal breaker. I fell in love with the LOOK of the old 4-runners and their capabilities, however, I've heard they are not the most comfortable for people with chronic pain and to be honest, I need other options in general. I don't want to be locked into only one car model to choose from. I love boxy rather than sleek windows and body if we're talking visual preference good visualization. I'm 5'4 and can barely see over the windshield of my Mom's Camry and I'm not a fan of a sedan. I've always preferred larger vehicles. I like being up a bit so size isn't the biggest problem as long as I can get in and out safely. Here's the real kicker. Because I don't have a car, I can't just go shopping around to various lots to see what I like which is another reason for narrowing it down. Just imagine shopping for a car and you've only seen what's in your apartment complex parking lot! I've pretty much been under a rock for a while now.
I don't know a lot about cars so please be kind and thoughtful when responding. Thanks in advance!
Update: Thank you for all your input. If the scooter wasn't in the equation (can hook outside) what other models would you suggest? How much more do you think I might need to increase the street budget? For example, if I go to a car lot I can put money down and pay the difference with my lowest interest credit card. However it looks like most dealerships are asking for 3k above street (private sellers) so it seems like a waste.
