That’s right, Wootility V5 is now out of beta! The focus for V5 was to create a coherent and clean experience, simplify management of your profiles and rethinking the way you navigate around Wootility for all your possible keyboard settings.

For Wootility, this is only just the beginning of this new and improved version, as as we have a lot of planned features to add in the future!

So let’s look at some of the highlights!

• Enhanced Profile Management

  • Everything is now bundled in one single menu

  • An overview of your active- and inactive profiles

  • Allow for a personal touch with banners and icons for your profiles

• New control and keyboard features

  • You can now drag an area to select keys

  • You can now double-click to select keys with the same configuration

  • Visualize arbitrary information with the Wooting 80HE’s Light Indicator

  • Rapid Trigger sensitivity can now be set individually per key (not available on AVR devices due to memory/flash storage limitations)

• Improved device handling

  • Reduced issues that could occur when using 3rd party RGB apps

  • Improved device connection handling relating to firmware updates

  • While updating firmware, Wootility-related notifications will no longer show.

  • Devices are detected quicker

Hey all, this is my first time sharing a Wootility changelog on reddit. Usually I only share these on our Discord to get feedback, but not everyone on here is on Discord.

One very important change with this release was the inclusion of a new set of fixes for the freezing issue which has affected a small subset of 80HE users. This is something we've been very focused on resolving, as it is very annoying if you encounter it, and we do not consider switching to 1000Hz polling to be anything other than a temporary workaround.

• Light Indicator tab:

  • Light Indicator now properly interacts with Tachyon mode

  • Light Indicator effects now have a three dot menu with options for Duplicate, Move to Global (when on profile effects), Rename and Delete

  • Added prebuilt effects for Solid, Pulse and the Typing Speed Meter (KPS) effect

  • Translation support for the Prebuilt categories and effect names

  • An info card pop-up has been added with a demonstration video of each effect

  • Fixed Solid effect parameters in Multicolor mode not following the window size properly

  • Improved the design of the LEDs on the Light Indicator preview

  • Fixed rare keyboard disconnects while on the Light Indicator tab

• Includes experimental patches for the 80HE to help with some instances of the Keyboard freezing (from v2.10.0-test.anti.freeze.1)

• Light Indicator effects can now have custom names

• Fix inefficiencies and improve color blending with Light Indicator Sync with Keyboard effect

• Optimise displaying of RGB Layers on ARM boards

• Fix issue with RGB Sleep animation finishing instantly when using static RGB

• Fix issue with profile switching feedback with RGB layers on ARM

• Fix issues with the Ripple RGB Effect where key fade could finish instantly and high speed settings wouldn't behave correctly

• Fix issue with DKS when setting the secondary actuation point to 4mm

And again, I'd love to hear all the feedback you've got

I have these set as my actuation points. However, all of them actuate at 0.4mm (based on the visual feedback) rather than what I set each key individually as.

I'm not a fan of this new interface. It feels too clunky/complicated, unlike the old one which was pretty straightforward. Maybe it just takes getting used to, but is there a way for us to revert to the old one?
