A cheap solution I have found, if you look into the possibility of a diesel heater is to build a small enclosure outside and only run the heat vent tube inside your living space. You could purchase a Bluetooth diesel heater for around $100 and a cheap Walmart android phone to connect to the heater. Have that phone connected to WiFi and remote access from your main phone to control heater. I have seen phones smartphones for like $30, so you would be all in for less than $150 for a WiFi heater setup. I started using my diesel heater over my propane devices because it’s much more efficient and cheaper, but still do turn on the propane heater in combination to heat everything up quickly. Just an fyi but the Mr Heater Buddy IS safe. I car camp in winter with it in my vehicle and sleep with it on. It shuts off if I dont have the window cracked open far enough to get enough oxygen into the car. I've checked and Im not dead. More on reddit.com

September 18, 2019unvented gas heater?
I have the blue flame in an old mobile home while we are building a new house. It's the 15k model I think. It keeps the majority of the trailer really nice. The moisture is an issue but hopefully in a year we are tearing this thing down. I would go with the blue flame for sure. Mine doesn't need any power to run. Which is the main reason I put it in. Any suggestions for an economical propane heater that could be started remotely over wifi? I use a wood stove as primary heat in my 400sq/ft tiny house, along with a 30k btu propane blue-flame heater for quick heat when first arriving as the wood stove heats up.
Problem is, when I arrive at night and it's very cold out (single digits or colder), it takes a LONG time for the propane heater and wood stove to get the place up to temp. If I could somehow start the propane heater from home it would be perfect, but all the cheap ventless propane heaters are manual control.
There are options around $1000 for propane furnaces or RV furnaces that can connect to a wifi thermostat, but I'd rather not spend that much, and I don't always have excess power in the winter (solar/battery) to run the blower fans.
I've researched the diesel heaters a bit, but those require third party controllers to connect to wifi and they seem kinda sketchy in general, not sure I want to run one when I'm not present.

I put an empire vented wall hung propane heater in my 2nd floor garage. It uses a milivolt control and is on a constant pilot light. I wired this with a relay, transformer and an Ecobee wifi thermostat. I set the temp on the Ecobee app and the heater kicks on and off automatically and remotely.
