I need to mail a payment to Verizon. What's the address for mailing a Verizon mobile bill payment?
How can I pay my Verizon mobile bill? What forms of payment can I use?
What's the Online Banking payment option in My Verizon?
A month and a half ago, I ended my service with Verizon Wireless after 30 some years of paying my bill on time and being in good standing. (I switched to GoogleFi. So far it was a very good move).
I have been receiving bills from Verizon Wireless after the service was shut down. The bill was for .18 cents.
Today I thought I would try to pay this 18 cents. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE. The vzw.com website wont take payments less then a dollar and it wont take payments that are more than what is owed. I used the online payment system and desperately tried to do it through the online chat as well. The results were the same.
As an American consumer, I realize unpaid bills affect my credit report. This could VERY WELL damage my credit. So, I set about fighting my way through to pay 18 cents.
I called and went through automated systems which reacted the same as the website (wont take anything less than a dollar and wont take anything more than the exact amount). There is no way to mail 18 cents to verizon wireless.
I called another number and found myself talking to a Verizon RESIDENTAL agent. I have said, for years, that one of the biggest problems with Verizon is that there are many SUBSETS of Verizon and they make it THE CONSUMER'S responsibility to know their business model and how their company is broken into Residential, Business, Fios, Wireless etc. And the customer service answers and talks with the glib "Verizon" until you explain your needs then they tell you "oh this is the Verizon for this... not what you need". So APPARENTLY, it is incumbent on the consumer to completely and fully understand the Verizon corporate business structure. Obviously Verizon has these subsets so they can shift money around and not pay their full debt to the American tax system.
This person at Verizon RESIDENTIAL forwarded me to Verizon WIRELESS billing and someone answered the phone who sounded like they were half asleep. Upon explaining my situation to them they briskly forwarded me to the same automated system that I dealt with before which only takes exact payment amounts that are more than 1 dollar.
I called the number again that got me to Verizon RESIDENTIAL and they forwarded me to Verizon WIRELESS billing and FINALLY after a one time confirmation email was sent to my yahoo account, the agent was able to access and SEE I was only trying to pay the 18 cents on my bill that they claimed was overdue.
THE TOTAL:
This took nearly 6 hours.
5 different agents said, "I'm sorry" or "I apologize".
In conclusion:
I demanded the agent send an email confirmation AND A PAPER LETTER that my account has been completely closed and that no further action or communication on my part was necessary. I told the agent I wanted something on paper so I can frame it and hang it on my wall.
THIS IS A VERY CLEAR EXAMPLE OF HOW CAPITALISM IS DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY AND THE THE CONSUMER HAS NO RIGHTS AND IS RIPE FOR GOUGING AND SCAMS FOR MONEY. Apparently Verizon's main business is vengefully damaging people's credit report who leave their service after 30 years in good standing. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY. SHAME ON VERIZON "WHATEVER". I hope to NEVER interact with this horrible business ever again.
(NOTE: This story was sent to 2 US Senators and 1 US House of Representative member)
Could you imagine bugging a senator or representative over something so small, Karen over here about to call Joe Biden next.
Could have walked into a corporate store, paid, and left. They can look up closed accounts that haven't been written off with a social. Most reps will let you type it in the tablet yourself if you don't want to tell them your social.
Places with cash drawers can give you change. I don't think this will happen to you again, but for anybody else reading this, just go to a corporate store.
