Claude-dev 2.0.0 released, now named Cline
With Claude 3.5 Sonnet, this extension yields really impressive results. Not the cheapest, but still dirt cheap compared to a dev salary. With Gemini pro, not as good, but with the free API you can do quite a lot, for free, if you don't mind google having access to your codebase. (and waiting for the request limit cooldown) With local model under 70B, still bad. The workflow + custom tool usage may be too confusing for the small LLMs. This and Aider have really impressed me recently. Aider can yield usable results for specific tasks with qwen2.5 models (coder and regular 14+b). More on reddit.com

May 8, 2024 -

Hey everyone!

I know i’m going to sound pretty stupid for this but i’ve looked all over youtube and all of the videos are from years ago or don’t really explain it well in my opinion. Can someone here explain to me in the most basic terms how to use github and vs code together so that i’m able to access my code from both my laptop and desktop

update: thank you so much everyone! i was able to figure it out

Tutorial 4: Source Control (Git/Github) with Visual Studio Code (VSCode) — subMIT v1 documentation
You can download Git here or follow the directions in the Source Control sidebar in VSCode. You set up source control to keep track of the current stable version of your code. Then you start working on a new feature, but are interrupted by someone who wants you to run a calculation using the original version of your code. You switch to that code version to fulfill the request and the switch back to pick up where you left off developing your new feature.
