Sounds like a no. But it really wouldn't matter since international interns would usually get a co-op work permit through their co-op program at school and that would be all they need. (this is for Canada. not sure about how it works in the states)

I always look for these posts when I'm interviewing, so I thought I'd make a post giving my timeline as I recently received my SWE Internship offer.

10/08 - Applied to the Software Engineer, Intern/Co-op position (no referral).

10/10 - Outreach from recruiter asking for graduation information and deadlines (I had a return offer from with a deadline at the end of october).

10/10 - Received Codesignal OA. 4 Questions, nothing too crazy. I had to redo it because I was flagged the first time for using scratch paper.

10/14 - Received confirmation that I passed the OA and moved onto the final round.

10/17 - Completed final round. 2 questions, all technical. I've heard people like doing the Meta Leetcode questions but my subscription ended, so I didn't. Both questions were standard Leetcode Medium/Easy though.

10/20 - Recieved verbal offer

10/21 - Signed official offer
