r/EnglishLearning on Reddit: What does "taking a quiz" mean ?
September 16, 2023 -

The question sounds ridiculous but hear me out. I'm currently studying Translation and Interpretation and our Teacher ( comperative syntax lesson) said translate this sentence: "The lecturer said on Friday she would take a pop quiz " now I understood that there will be a pop quiz on Friday and the one taking (solving) the quiz is the lecturer herself, but the teacher is saying that "taking the quiz" means that she is the one preparing the quiz instead. Is that how you use "taking an exam/ a quiz" ?

Thanks in advance
