Is it possible to download windows 11 onto a usb as my laptop doesnt have enough memory and even after deleting pretty much everything it still isnt enough so i was gunna purchase as external usb and then try download it to that
So I plan on building a PC sometime this week but the only thing I'm missing is the OS. Since I don't have a different computer running windows 11 I was wondering if I could use my grandpa's computer thats running windows 10 and download windows 11 on a usb from there. If that doesn't work am I able to install windows 10 from the usb and upgrade to windows 11 on my pc?
I am running Windows 10, and I've heard you can just reuse the key for windows 11.
Do I have to worry about deactivating my current version?
So I will be building a whole new PC but would also put my current SSD with OS into the new PC just so I can "boot up". Could I just boot the current harddrive (windows 10) and run the windows 11 installer and just select my new drive as the target?
I don't have a USB. I don't need one, right?
I’m trying to download windows 11 pro onto a flash drive using Microsoft’s media creation tool. I can only see an option to download windows 11. If I do that and purchase a windows 11 pro key will that work and I’ll have pro upon activation? Or do I have to download windows 11 pro from the Microsoft site and if so, where can I find that? Thanks.
I want to know what is the best to buy windows cheap. There are keys and USB in ebay. I don't have any other computer so I wonder which is the best option. I have only one laptop if I need it to download windows and then activate the key but I don't know how it works.
I've been trying to use basically any information I can find online and I think I've somehow made it worse as my PC no longer even recognizes the USB stick.
Started up using windows media creation utility for windows 11, and the first time it actually recognized and ran the windows installer, I tried to install windows and followed the process, but it said at the end there was some issue with the drive not having all the files it needed.
So then I recreated the installation media to try and have one where the files worked, and then whenever my PC tried to boot the installation media it was just a black screen.
Then I found some guides on changing bios settings to get these things to work, and I followed them, changed all of the recommended bios settings to get things to work, and I think that just made things worse as my PC no longer recognizes my USB drive as a bootable device.
I tried using Rufus to burn the ISO file to the USB drive and my PC still doesn't recognize it as a bootable device. I don't know what bios setting I changed that has this not working anymore, but I was wondering if anyone knows what I did or how I can fix this. Or anything to try that I haven't already done.
Thanks in advance for the advice.
