I was looking for the same as OP. I found the answer here (and it worked):

The relevant info is:
Hold down the Windows key and press R to trigger the Run dialog box. In the Open field, type the following string: ms-cxh://setsqsalocalonly.

Updating security questions for local accounts in Windows 10 & 11 | NinjaOne
1 month ago - Security questions serve as an essential recovery mechanism for local accounts in Windows 10 and 11, providing an extra layer of protection that allows users to reset their passwords if they forget them. When you set up a local account with a password in Windows, you’re required by default to select and answer three security questions from a predefined list.

r/WindowsHelp on Reddit: How do I remove security questions?
January 27, 2024 -

I had to reset my laptop for personal reasons. I think my laptop was on windows 10 when I reset it, and I was forced to set security questions so I picked the 3 questions and typed in random answers because I plan to remove/delete them after the setup. However I forgot to do that and updated my laptop to windows 11 home. When I go to settings > accounts > sign-in options > password I dont see the option to remove/delete the security questions. Instead it says "You're all set up" with a "Change" button beside it. I pressed on the change button and after tying my current password I was led to a page that only showed "New password" "Confirm password" and "Password hint". In other words it only lets me change my password and set a hint (take note hint is different from security questions) and I really want to delete/remove them. Do you know why this is happening and what I should do?

Additional info: I'm using a local account after resetting my laptop, and I'm not signed into microsoft

Hi u/acheron2024 , thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp ! Don't worry, your post has not been removed. To let us help you better, try to include as much of the following information as possible! Posts with insufficient details might be removed at the moderator's discretion. Model of your computer - For example: "HP Spectre X360 14-EA0023DX" Your Windows and device specifications - You can find them by going to go to Settings > "System" > "About" What troubleshooting steps you have performed - Even sharing little things you tried (like rebooting) can help us find a better solution! Any error messages you have encountered - Those long error codes are not gibberish to us! Any screenshots or logs of the issue - You can upload screenshots other useful information in your post or comment, and use Pastebin for text (such as logs). You can learn how to take screenshots here . All posts must be help/support related. If everything is working without issue, then this probably is not the subreddit for you, so you should also post on a discussion focused subreddit like r/Windows . The official way of deleting security questions is to set a new password. You've done that. Therefore, your security questions are gone. For your peace of mind, verify that they are gone. Deliberately choose "I forgot my password" and confirm that Windows doesn't ask them.

Hello, I'm Greg, here to help you with this.

It's good to see someone who plans ahead. The change to test questions on the Log-in screen was little noticed and many still think it requires a password reset disk when it's so much easier.

It should have prompted you to set up Local Account test questions when yuo created or converted to the Local Account. If not to set up or edit password reset questions for a Local Account in Windows 11 see here:

https://www.elevenforum.com/t/update-security-q...

The great thing about MVP Shawn Brink's tutorials is that he is normally the best expert on the subjects he writes about, and is usually easily accessible in the Comments section of his tutorials where you can contact him if you need further help. So if it's not letting you add the questions now, I'd ask Shawn as then you'll know for sure you've tried everything possible.

You could also create a New Local Admin account to replace yours:

https://pureinfotech.com/create-local-administr...

If it lets you set up the passwords, Move your files over via C:\Users. When you choose the old account from the new one there, before it will open your User folders it will issue permissions to you as an Admin from all of them, with a green bar running across the address box of Explorer. This may take a while but you will then be able to open each User folder (Documents, Pictures, Downloads, etc) from Home Tab, choose Select All, then Copy. Browse on Explorer bar to the corresponding folder in the new account to right click it to Paste, then open and confirm all files copied.

Then you can either keep the old account as a backup or delete it:

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back, I will have other suggestions if necessary.
