Conversely, a more expensive model in the same family will most likely have a dozen or more tones to choose from, will have much higher polyphony, and also would most likely sport other useful features such as Bluetooth, true line outputs, better speakers, etc. If your goal is to ultimately learn to play an acoustic piano, digital pianos with weighted hammer action keys are generally preferred because these will get you as close as possible to the touch and feel of an acoustic piano. Generally, 88-key weighted digital pianos are the way to go since they are most like an acoustic piano which is beneficial if you want to develop your skills and technique. At $150-300, you probably can only find a 61-key unweighted keyboard. While it wouldn't be as good as a digital piano, it can be used to learn the basics or if you do not have intention to play classical piano or play on a real piano eventually.
