If you read the post from DPD the other day. Its because of the knock on effect from Royal Mail going on strike. Having said that, out of all the couriors Yodels ive had the worst experience. If you ordered from amazon, it shouldn't be too hard to get a refund. Just need to answer the questions correctly. More on reddit.com

I haven't had many deliveries from Yodel before. I've seen jokes about them before, so I'm a bit concerned about a delivery that I was expecting today.

Every courier and Royal Mail depends most on your local delivery person, and a little on your local depot. I have no issues with any courier generally. We always have the same Yodel, Evri and UPS driver and I've never had an issue. Amazon gets us stuff but they nearly always just dump it on our (open) doorstep and run. Wouldn't want to be out as I suspect the parcel would disappear, luckily as there's 4 of us there's nearly always someone here. I sell on eBay and have happily used all the couriers. I have had most issues with Royal Mail but I also send the vast majority of my items using them so they are bound to have the most issues statistically. You'll only honestly get a good idea by asking people who live near you.
