I am using YouTube on browsers on my iPhone but the highest quality of the video it lets me choose is 720p, while on the app it’s lets me go to 4k. Does anyone know why? I tried using other browsers then Safari like Google Chrome, FireFox, and Brave but it’s still 720p.

Not sure if Vinegar app would bypass the 720p limitation?

Download Video Lite dawg. I got sick of YT because they paywall basic iOS functions. Reddit recommended this one and I haven't looked back. This will solve your problem. It does have an ad when you open the app and haven't used it for a while but not on every video and should be the full resolution.

I would highly highly highly recommend video lite. I can vouch for how nice the app is and no ads just occasionaly an ad that pops up when you open the app (sometimes it doesnt) and it’s very non-intrusive barely 3-5 wait. Easy to skip. It has good features and mimics youtube app design. Can play in background. Can set timer. Also it is basically a browser for everything else so usable on other platforms. UYouplus: https://github.com/qnblackcat/uYouPlus But you have to set up a sideload store which to me isn't worth the effort for YouTube. There is also yattee which requires a bit of setup: https://github.com/yattee/yattee I would just use adguard in safari personally.

I've tried setting the DNS manually to something like AdGuard or just installing the AdGuard app and let them run the default configurations, yet I still get ads on YouTube. Is there any YouTube alternative app that has no ads for iOS? Why isn't there something like Newpipe which is what Android users use to get YouTube without ads?
