Answer from direct experience- I live in DesMoines. My brother lives in Chicago. We were able to share for 6/7 months. It asked if I was on vacation. If no access wasn’t allowed. If yes access was granted 3 weeks, I believe, and local channels were based on current location-DSM. Bro/ fam manager “checked in” and process repeated. Eventually youtubetv required my device to check in from his location. When this didn’t happen sharing was disallowed and access lost…even for recordings.

I noticed yesterday that I kept getting “too many streams” yesterday for Redzone. I have the base plan with the 4K plan. My question, when I turn on the yttv app on my Apple TV, my profile or my girls profile is 1st and the others are saying signed off…do I need to log them onto my home network to fix the issue?

Assuming they are not in the same house as you? If so, yes. You cannot share the account via multiple households. Family sharing is only for sharing within the same household. If they are temporarily out of the house either from traveling or school, then yes. They will have to physically come back to your house and sign in every 90 days.

Late Sunday afternoon (5pm-ish eastern time) there were a couple reports here from people getting the "too many streams" message. YTTV engineers have already said they are looking into it. If that's about when your problem occurred, it may not be necessary to do any other troubleshooting.

Using Family Sharing, yes it is. You’ll need to send her an invite to her gmail account, through the app. Then she accepts the invite and logs in as herself, NOT as you, as that will mess with the location settings. The location settings are attached to the main account, that’s you. She will need to login once every 90 days at the home location, or she can locked out.
