Barcode will not scan from Zebra ZD410 printer
Zebra Printer Not Printing Barcodes
Weird Zebra printer solid black barcode issue
Barcodes not showing on Zebra Printer Labels generated in Crystal Reports
Videos
The top barcode is printed from a regular HP laser printer. The bottom one is printed off a ZD410 label printer and will not scan with a handheld scanner, getting inconsistent results when using a phone app.
Compagnie had a thousand of these identical setup working without any issues, same printer, same windows image, same software, same drivers and same printer config.
I have tried reinstalling it multiple time,Uploaded newer printer.replaced the printer with identical model.Changed the paper roll being used (thermal direct).
Any barcode expert with good eyes might see whats wrong with the label? Getting desperate on fixing this issue.
Thank you
EDIT: I lowered the speeed from 4 to 3 and the darkness from 30 to 20 and it got the labels to scan.
Thanks to everyone that helped.
SOLVED: It was an issue with ZPL (Zebra Programming Language) superseding EPL (Eltron Programming Language) and not handling the encoding. Looks like Zebra deprecated EPL out of their drivers. I'll leave it here in case someone else gets stuck where I did.
I've recently replaced an old SATO 10x15cm label printer with a Zebra ZT411 and the labels it prints from our shipping partner look fine except the barcodes and QR code are almost solid black. Every other part of the label (text/numbers) are crisp and clear. I've tried the obvious stuff (now irrelevant) like recalibrating and test prints and it's crisp and perfect. I'm using the official driver from Zebra, downloaded specifically. I've tried so many different configurations of driver and queue settings and print preferences, all with the same result.
The one ray of light: When I tell the label to print to an XPS file and then print the XPS file it looks perfect.
I figure this could be a problem when the print driver unencodes the barcode information. I've dipped into the XPS file's XML and it's happily printing the .tif files representing the barcodes. I haven't figured out how to isolate the partner's spool payload to see what it's doing.
Does anyone know what incredibly obvious problem I'm missing? I haven't dealt with printers like this in years and I'm incredibly rusty. I'm usually a data analyst.
Basically, we use IQMS for our ERP system and connect shipments from there to a crystal report for labels to be printed per customer on the Zebra printer in our shipping office. My issue is that when we try to print a certain label that has barcodes, the codes for them come up instead of the barcodes. I printed it on a regular printer and it shows up fine, so I thought it might be the Zebra printer margins not the CReport. would I need to do those margins on the shipping PC or the print server? Did them on the PC and that didn’t help. If I do need to adjust the margins in Creports, please advice. Label is a 4x6" I think.
I need help from anyone that has dealt with this before. I need to get this fixed so I can add a QR code to a section of this same customer label ASAP and this needs to be figured out first to do so. Please, any insight will be good!
Have you added the * as a prefix and a suffix?
Are you sure the correct font is being used?
