I have over 1000 games collected for free since pandemic
That’s what sucked me into Pc gaming when I was 9, and I’m now 32. Pc gaming (especially nowadays) is so easy and cheap to get into, minus the upfront cost of the pc itself. Highly customizable, can still use controllers, you can download mods, etc. I’ve paid for probably 95% of all of my games, but I’ve also waited for deep sales for all of them (unless I really wanted to play a certain game) You see sales on consoles, but they’ll knock like $7 off and say it’s a good deal. Whereas I can get the same game and all dlc on pc for $7 total. It’ll be $40 on console with no dlc. It’s a no brainer for most games honestly. Lol More on reddit.com

The Elder Scrolls games have literally dozens and dozens (hundreds?) of optional quests and guilds and so on, which usually give good in game, relevant rewards. Worth a look and won't break the bank.

It started with some companies giving freebies to stay inside. Then came Epic with its weekly freebies, then Prime, and just like that I've gone from just Warframe & Counter Strike to over 1000 games over various stores simply by being vigilant and leeching the gibs. And it just keeps happening. Witcher 3? Free and the 1st one too. All Batmans? Free. Fallouts? All free, twice, except for 4. Dooms? Almost bought Eternal but got that free too. Elder Scrolls? All except Skyrim. Shadowrun? Entire trilogy free twice. Homeworld series? Actually bought in sale, just to get it for free a year later on another store. You get the idea. It's crazy. I already have more free games than I could possibly clear in my lifetime, all gotten in just a few years. What I'm saying is; gaming on PC is very much free and the only thing limiting is your time and interests.

I have the tendency not to touch any free game for more than few hours, while I don't mind crushing hundreds on games I buy though. Is there a psychological reason for that?
