I need help on translating these words from English to Spanish and vice versa, there is controversy amongst these words. Read description.
I wouldn't call it controversy, just confusion 1,000,000 (the unity plus 6 zeros)= un millón/ one million 1,000,000,000 (the unity plus 9 zeros) = mil millones/ one billion 1,000,000,000,000 (the unity plus 12 zeros)= un billón / one trillion 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 (the unity plus 18 zeros)= un trillón/ one quintillion In my head the Spanish counting scale makes more sense because: bi- and tri- mean two and three times respectively A Spanish million has 6 zeros (just like in English), two times= 2x6= 12 zeros= Spanish billion . Three times= 3x6= 18 zeros = Spanish trillion More on reddit.com
