Hi there, just trying to understand what the issue is. I have:

Quit & relaunched Safari
Disabled & re-enabled the extension
Changed permissions (set extension to “deny”, “ask”, and back to “allow”
Deleted & re-installed app

No dice. The extension has no trouble on my iPhone, but even before the most recent OS update I would get issues with the iPad version telling me it was “unable to copy generated password” and having issues with copy-paste between the extension and sites in general. No issues with autofill though.

I’m on an iPad Air 4 if that helps, use a magic keyboard.

Any ideas?

I had this same thing happen on iOS 17.2 beta, and I had to completely delete my Safari history/browsing data/cache to get it to work. Working fine now, except I’m still (after a year) having the Face ID issue, where it keeps telling me I need to enter my Master Password to use it. Ugh.

Firstly, try tapping the 🧩 extensions icon in the address bar of Safari and turn off all extensions except 1Password, just to make sure that nothing else is preventing 1Password from working as expected. If that still doesn't work, try turning off any VPNs or proxies that might be in use. If the issue persists then try these steps to restart the 1Password Safari extension: Open Safari. Tap on the Aa / puzzle piece icon located in the address bar. Select Manage Extensions. Turn off 1Password. Completely close Safari. Ensure your iOS and browser and fully up to date. Turn the 1Password for Safari extension back on by following steps 1-3. Safari > Settings > Passwords. Select three dots at bottom of password list and select: Export All Passwords, it gives me a warning with 2 grey boxes, I select 'Export Passwords', I use the default name and location as my desktop, but when I select Save.....no file is saved and I get no other prompts? Wanting to save the passwords so I can import them to 1Password.

Warning: iOS app version 7.8 removed the old Safari share sheet extension that supported standalone vaults. So if you use a standalone vault, you're outta luck from now on. The new Safari extension only supports subscription accounts. AutoFill still works, but they want you to subscribe to use previous functionality that worked just fine. They previously said the current iOS app and 1Password 7 for desktop would continue to support standalone vaults and that a NEW SEPARATE iOS app would be released to go with the new desktop version. That doesn't seem to be entirely true anymore... now they are taking existing functionality away hoping that we upgrade to a subscription.

I am thinking about a subscription, but I am not ready to move to 1Password 8 just yet especially if the Mac app performance is not up to par with the previous app yet. And updates like this taking every last functional thing away from standalone vaults makes it hard to want to consider a subscription.

Why doesn't it work with stand alone vaults?
