November 7, 2025 - In 2006, Mark Davies, an associate professor of linguistics at Brigham Young University, published his estimate of the 5000 most common words in Modern Spanish. To make this list, he compiled samples only from 20th-century sources—especially from the years 1970 to 2000. Most of the sources are from the 1990s. Of the 20 million words in the corpus, about one-third (~6,750,000 words) come from transcripts of spoken Spanish: conversations, interviews, lectures, sermons, press conferences, sports broadcasts, and so on.

¡Hola!
after finishing the book called "a frequency dictionary of spanish" by Mark davies which lists 5,000 words and a few other books, I'm looking for a bigger list that doesn't need to have English translations. I've tried to search reddit and other places but couldn't find anything. I'm actually considering to flat out buy the oxford dictionary linked below and grind words from there but I do want to get the most bang for my buck, hence a frequency list.
Where can I find a good frequency list of the 10,000 most used words or other big frequency lists?

I googled and found some resources. I looked into getting more actual frequency dictionaries but man it’s expensive. I’ll see if I can find the frequency lists again (hopefully bookmarked but 🤷♀️ Edit: added link http://frequencylists.blogspot.com/2016/05/the-8600-most-frequently-used-spanish.html?m=1

There is an online collection of various frequency lists in different languages, maybe try here, https://wortschatz.uni-leipzig.de/en/download/Spanish If you don't mind a bit of post-processing of the words.
