4" Memory Foam Topper w/ Tempur Pedic? - National Scoliosis Foundation Forums
I need a little help choosing between 4 and 5 pound density topper Foam Factory
I'm looking for a 4 inch thick mattress topper, but I'm wondering if it's better to go with a duel topper or just thick foam?
3 inch vs 4 inch mattress topper?
Can anyone tell me if the 5lb density is firmer than the 4? I'd think it should be? Reading through customer reviews isn't helpful. I need support with some give for pressure points. Most toppers online and in stores are trash. They're not supportive at all they compress as much as my used 32 pound California king topper thats a few years old.
After reading so much on here I'm wondering if I should remove the top layer of my bed as well. It's actually a bed that was designed to have the layers replaced. It's an Indigo Sleep but sadly they appear to be out of business. I'm hoping a diy mattress person on here can help. I need good sleep again.
Perhaps I need to remove the top layer and just add my topper to fix my issue. The bed however seems in good shape. Right now I just need relief from pain. I've bought and returned 2 toppers so far. The Novaform ComfortGrande 3 inch was trash. It weighs 27 pounds and it simply sinks. I also tried the serta revive and align 3 inch topper but it didn't come to 3 inches so kohls wouldn't exchange. Currently I have a Viscosoft 3 inch topper. However it only got to 2.5 inch height! It weighs 35 pounds. So it's the best I can find on Amazon.
So now I can either accept another topper from Viscosoft and try to stack them or I was considering using Foam Factory Foam by mail. My issue here is do I choose 4lb or 5 lb density. I want both support but softness. I'm a bit confused on weather the 5lb density is firmer than the 4lb density. I need relief from hip and shoulder pain. I suffer from psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. The last memory foam topper I had was a serta but the tags say sleep innovations and Innocor. It was 32 pounds and heavenly. It is worn out so no longer providing support. Doing my math that was only 3lb density. However I don't think that's quite supportive enough anymore. So is the foam factory 5lb memory foam firm? Or is is it actually soft? I need to sink in some but be supported. Any help is appreciated.
So sorry for my long and winding story here. I'm desperate to get out of pain. I weigh 145 to 148 if that helps anyone. I'm willing to replace a layer below the topper as well. Advice for that is welcome too. I actually think that Serta align & revive would have been perfect for doing this. I don't think it was true memory foam. It was very supportive but it caused pressure point pain in shoulder and hip. I didn't give it more than a day. I was probably hasty. It was 200 bucks. There must be something similar for a layer below the topper that's less money. I'd rather not pay more than a few hundred dollars. Foam Factory seems to have reasonable prices. If there memory foam is true quality I think they're my solution. Just unsure which density. Is 5lb density not soft enough for my size? I am in so much pain and so frustrated I want to cry. Any help us appreciated.
