what to do for a 54" bathroom vanity
Is a 54" double vanity too small?
Do you really need 2 sinks? When we redid our bathroom, we opted for a 48” vanity with a single large sink. We ended up with way more counter space than if we’d tried to do the max double vanity we could fit (which was just shy of 60”). Having one sink hasn’t been an issue once in the 2 years since, but I love having clearly defined his/hers counter sides. It helps that our sink is large and our faucet rotates so we can both get at it from the side if needed.

I'd like to redo our bathroom vanity but the space if kind of a non standard size 54.5" from drywall to drywall. 24" deep. I'm looking at trying to use in stock cabinets from somewhere like lowes/homedepot. I'm thinking about either butcher block or laminate for the countertop. But for the cabinets the only way I can figure it is doing like a 30" base and 2 12" sides and then fill the gap with filler strips. Does that sound right?
