How long the battery would last for given load?
How to calculate how long a DC battery would last for given load, with single charge? What are the DC battery parameters to look for? For ex. I have 12V 10A load. Given the battery specifications, how to calculate how long the battery(say lead-acid) would last for given load? And, can a low Ah... More on forum.allaboutcircuits.com
Cost of UPS vs Homemade Battery Backup Power
For a 20W router the runtime will be much less than you think. The inverter has a large power draw regardless of how little it is used. Much smarter to have a system that doesn't boost the 12V DC up to 120V AC and then back down to 12V DC. They are pretty easy to DIY. All you need is a CC-CV regulator for charging and another CV regulator for the output. Or you can just buy a premade unit but the capacity is vastly less than 100Ah. More on reddit.com
Calculate UPS size
UPS capacity for how many VA/watts it can handle and how long it will run are completely unrelated. A lot of UPS models in the same line will all use exactly the same battery packs. A typical setup is 2 to 4 7Ah sealed lead acid 12v batteries. If you have a 2-cell battery pack, that's 2*12v*8A == ~170 Watt/hours. Assuming the inverter is 90% efficient, and your 380 watts of power need, expect about a 20 minute runtime. More on reddit.com
How to determine UPS runtime? Why is battery capacity (Ah) not listed in most specifications pages?
I agree, it shouldn't be that hard. I would suggest looking up the replacement batteries for the unit you are looking into and they sometimes provide Ah on those. Just factor some kind of efficiency (85-95%?) Should get you close. More on reddit.com
How can I calculate inverter battery backup time?
You can use this formula for calculating inverter battery backup time:
Backup time (hrs) = Battery Capacity (Ah) x Voltage (V) x Efficiency / Load (W)

How to Calculate Your UPS / inverter Battery Backup Time?
December 19, 2025 - Suppose the capacity of your inverter battery is 150Ah and you are using a single lead acid battery so the battery voltage or input voltage is 12V. You want to run 2 fans and 3 tube lights and 1 Wi-Fi router on the inverter. So in this specific case, the inverter battery backup time will be calculated as follows:

How to calculate the battery backup time with total load capacity, including the inverter capacity - Quora
Answer (1 of 5): Battery capacity is measured in watt-hours (Wh), which may be listed or may be listed as amp-hours(Ah), or charge. To find Wh, multiply nominal voltage by charge. Then, find the output power(watts) of the inverter. You may need to calculate this based on the input power on device...
