French Numbers and Counting: 60 to 99 - Lawless French Number Lesson
January 1, 2025 - In keeping with the general weirdness at this end of the number scale, there’s no standard French word for ninety* either; it follows the same pattern as 70. That is, you continue using quatre-vingt and adding from ten. 90 is quatre-vingt-dix ...

Learning French numbers... wth is up with 60-90?!
¯_(ツ)_/¯ its just the way it is. Honestly most french people just learn it this way and never once think about how weird this is. Belgium and Swiss did get it right here and they indeed use Septante and Nonante (they don't use Octante anymore tho, so its still four-twenty) More on reddit.com

TIL In the Switzerland and Belgium 70 = septante, 80 = huitante, 90 = nonante (the latter only in Switzerland)
Huitante is only in Switzerland. In Belgium, they use quatre-vingt. Nonante is in both countries. More on reddit.com

Why are 90% of my games filled with toxic french people

I googled it to see if others have the same issue with french players. So yes, same here. After 2 years I can say that french players are by far the most toxic players. Idk why so many of them accumulate so much hate and frustration. Their life must suck I guess; well, I‘m happy not being like that. Sad part is that they can suck the fun out of the game for others as well.

The number 90 is quatre-vingt-dix. Again, the numbers 11-19 are added to quatre-vingts to make the numbers 91 to 99. Cent is easy to remember if you think of the word centennial (meaning 100 years) or the fact that there are 100 cents in a dollar.
