I curated a list of 77 AI and AI-related courses that are free online
This is an incredible effort and a fantastic resource for the community. You have done the hard work that stops most people. Its well organised, saves people countless hours of searching and helps them avoid low-quality material. Thank you for that!. Here are a few thoughts: Inspiration for Non Technical Learners: Your journey from the "AI for Everyone" course to this is super inspiring. It's powerful proof for others with non-technical backgrounds that the AI world is accessible. It shows that passion and a structured approach are more important than a specific degree. The GitHub : Your point about GitHub is spot on and a crucial tip for newcomers. Many people see it as just a place for code and miss out on the incredible books, courses (like from Microsoft), and learning resources that are hosted there. Highlighting this is a huge help. Practical Structure: The fact that you didn't just dump links is key. By categorizing the courses (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) and including related fields like Data Science and interview prep, you've created a genuine learning path, not just a list. Being on this similar situation few years i have also took almost similar path. At that period i also joined some online courses so i should have some practical exposure of Project work experience also. You can also include LogicMojo in the list. Its AI course focus on project work. Many of my projects are also listed in GitHub. I can share that if any one need for preparation. Thanks for sharing the results with all of us.This list you share can help this community to build stronger. I'm saving this post and will definitely be diving into that PDF More on reddit.com

Courses for beginners in AI?
This is what AI says to take: There are many great courses available to learn about AI. Here are a few options: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) by Stanford University: This is a comprehensive course that covers a wide range of topics in AI, including machine learning, natural language processing, and robotics. Deep Learning by Andrew Ng: This is a popular course that covers the fundamentals of deep learning, including how to build neural networks and how to apply them to real-world problems. Machine Learning by Coursera: This course, also by Andrew Ng, covers a wide range of machine learning techniques and algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised learning, and how to apply them to real-world problems. Artificial Intelligence for Robotics by Georgia Tech: This course teaches students how to design intelligent agents, including robots, that can perceive, reason, and act. Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI) by edX: This is a self-paced online course that covers the fundamentals of AI, including machine learning, natural language processing, and computer vision. There are many other great courses available as well, these are just a few examples. More on reddit.com

What are the best free courses to learn AI as a beginner (in python)
I started learning AI with Python about a year ago, and after trying tons of free courses, here’s what actually worked for me: CS50’s AI (Harvard) – This was my first AI course and it’s really solid for building a foundation. The lectures are engaging, but some parts felt a bit fast-paced. Fast.ai Practical Deep Learning – This is really good. Infact multiple people recommend it. It’s hands-on and teaches deep learning using PyTorch in a way that actually makes sense. No unnecessary math, just straight into coding. Google’s ML Crash Course – Perfect for getting a quick intro to ML concepts before diving deeper. In industry, Mostly you need to work on The interactive exercises helped reinforce learning. MIT Intro to Deep Learning – Watched this later and it gave me a good understanding of neural networks. It’s a short course but intense. I would say if you are a complete beginner, start with Google’s ML Crash Course, then move to CS50 AI for theory and finally Fast.ai for real-world projects. I am from India, and I feel more comfortable with Indian accented lectures as they help me understand concepts more clearly. Unfortunately, there aren’t many free AI courses available in India, except for some content scattered across YouTube channels. So, I decided to take a few paid courses and tutor based training as well. Since AI is a rapidly evolving field, just learning concepts is not enough, you need hands-on experience in AI and Data Science. Practical projects are essential so you can showcase your skills on your resume. I am recommending Few here - Logicmojo AI ML Course - Start from basic for working professionals only, Focus on Projects. IIT Hyderabad - PG Certificate in AI/ML (TalentSprint) - Covers GenAI , Deep learning Great Learning - PG Program in AI & ML - Industry-focused AI course with real projects UpGrad - AI & ML Program - You might have heard of it So no introduction required More on reddit.com

r/learnmachinelearning on Reddit: I curated a list of 77 AI and AI-related courses that are free online
June 19, 2025 -

I decided to go full-on beast mode in learning AI as much as my non-technical background will allow. I started by auditing DeepLearning.ai's "AI for Everyone" course for free on Coursera. Completing the course opened my mind to the endless possibilities and limitations that AI has.

I wasn't going to stop at just an intro course. I am a lifelong learner, and I appreciate the hard work that goes into creating a course. So, I deeply appreciate platforms and tutors who make their courses available for free.

My quest for more free AI courses led me down a rabbit hole. With my blog's audience in mind, I couldn't stop at a few courses. I curated beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses. I even threw in some Data Science and ML courses, including interview prep ones.

It was a pleasure researching for the blog post I later made for the list. My research took me to nooks and crannies of the internet that I didn't know had rich resources for learning. For example, did you know that GitHub isn't just a code repo? If you did, I didn't. I found whole courses and books by big tech companies like Microsoft and Anthropic there.

I hope you find the list of free online AI courses as valuable as I did in curating it. A link to download the PDF format is included in the post.

Hey everyone,

I am a software developer looking to transition into the AI/ML space, but I am facing some challenges in understanding Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts. While I have experience with programming, AI feels like a completely different domain. The more I try to dive in, the more complex it become, especially with topics like neural networks, deep learning, and advanced mathematics, ML Models etc.
While Searching online i saw some online courses on AI like Udacity, Logicmojo, codecademy, CloudAcademy, DataCamp etc.

With AI booming in the tech industry, I don’t want to be left behind. I want to upskill and make a smooth transition into this field, but I’m struggling to find the right course that breaks down AI and ML in a way that’s easy to grasp for someone coming from a software development background.

Please suggest some structured course Free or Paid anything is fine

  1. It should starts from scratch but also practical for software engineers shifting to AI

  2. It Explains AI concepts in an intuitive way rather than diving straight into complex math

  3. It provides hands on coding experience with Python, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, As my tech will change completely , so need hands on experience to understand

  4. Covers real world applications of AI, including ML models, NLP and GenAI

  5. Has structured content with guided projects, so I can build a strong AI portfolio.

If you have made a similar transition or taken an AI or ML course that truly helped, I’d love to hear about your experience.

I can relate to that. When I first got into AI, I felt like I had just opened a textbook to know about it. All the terms like neural networks, gradients, tensors hit me all at once. What helped me out in the beginning was finding a course that would teach me by building instead of just throwing equations at me starting the very first day. I have struggle a lot these courses as self learning was tough for me so based on my finding i can suggest you about the courses you asked in your questions. DataCamp is good for learning the fundamentals, has short lessons, and projects are quite deep enough for building out a portfolio. LogicMojo AI & ML course is introduced me to practical skills like NLP, GenAI and model deployment after covering the basics. I preferred that approach because I learn better through hands on work than pure theory. Udacity AI Course has a fantastic structured curriculum, but is too expensive and takes too long to finish, especially if you are a working developer. Codecademy are great introductions to coding, but don't cover enough to switch careers. So, choose a program that allows you to build out AI features such as RAG, Fine tuning, and MLOps workflows. Those projects helped me demonstrate my credibility when switching teams. Start by keeping things simple, and practice regularly. You will build a portfolio and gain confidence. AI will seem scary at first, but after you have an understanding of the concepts, it becomes an amazing experience.
