Same problem here. I can’t stand the tips on the Pros. They hurt my ears, believe me I tried to get used to them. Also the ANC gives me that horrible underwater feeling. The 3s were too big and fell out of my ears all the time. So I stuck to my aging 2s. Decided to give the 4s with ANC a try on the day they came out and never looked back. Superior sound to the 2s (I use headphone accommodation in iOS to boost the highs a bit), fits (after a short period of getting used to them) just as comfy as my beloved 2s and the ANC works good enough for me to take the annoying edge of unwanted sounds without the ‘cabin pressure’ feeling. Couldn’t be happier. Will never go back to the 2s and I’m no longer afraid they will be discontinued. I believe the 4s have made the 2s obsolete. Hope this helps. More on reddit.com

I bought some new 2nd Gen Airpods late last year hoping they would endure for the rest of time. Someone forgot them in his shorts and they ended up in the wash :( Hands free is important to me and now the microphone doesn't work.
I would prefer to get 2nd generation again because they fit my ear the best. I can go for 4s but they're just a bit big and I'd prefer options for 2nd gen if they were still available!

There’s a lot of great sales on AP pro 2nd gen right now. Most large retailers I can find are selling them for $169. I just bought mine today from Costco for $179 (AppleCare+ included).

Long story short, I have sensitive ears. I really dislike in-ear earbuds and did not like the Pros. I also tried the AirPods 3rd Gen and they were too big. So I’ve stuck around with the 2nd Gen since they are basically the originals. On a deal in target, I bought about 3 pairs and have lasted me for the last 3 years. Lost my first pair, now my second pair 1 earbud is low in volume so I know they’re about to go. I’m down to my last pair.
I’m devastated because the original AirPods seem to truly be discontinued.
That said, I’m really concerned about my comfortability with the 4th gen. How is your experience with the 4th gen? I’m so comfortable with these AirPods ever since they came out. They are absolutely perfect and my daily drivers and I’m afraid I won’t have the same experience soon.
