I just ordered the AirPod Pro 2nd generation and a case to go with it. When ordering the case on Amazon, I was repeatedly warned that cases designed for the 2nd gen would not fit the 1st gen AirPods.

Some people say I can just but second gen buds but some say that will ruin the noise cancellation, which is the most important part for me. ... December 6, 2024 - Left airpod on 1st gen generation airpods has static now. And get this, on all 3 sets we bought at same time... So I go to the "Genius Bar" and after a lengthy test done by the tech the set I brought in are declared trouble free. Meaning they can find no problem with the airpods tested.
