Is Ally Bank open on Labor Day?
Is Ally Bank open the day before Labor Day?
Is Ally Bank open on the Fourth of July?
Hi,
Today, without any prior notice, Ally repossessed my car. I missed a payment last month but had intended to make the next one. When I reached out to them, they informed me that I'd have to wait until Tuesday for the Partial Possession Notice to be generated by their system. This notice will provide me with a quote to reclaim my car. Does this mean that I won't be able to retrieve my car for the next five days, leading to additional fees being added to my quote? I'm unsure of how this quotation system works. Will the amount be solely based on my missed payment, or are there other factors involved?
Apart from that, when I contacted the towing company that took my car to retrieve my personal belongings, they said they couldn't accommodate me until Monday. Is it legal for them to withhold my personal items? I understand that the car technically still belongs to them, as I have $4k remaining on my payment. However, they have items like my wallet, cards, and IDs, which are personal to me. How can they take and hold onto these items?
Has anyone else faced a similar situation? I'd appreciate any advice.
Update: I've managed to reclaim my car by paying $2K which was the cost of 3 missed payments (not consecutively, but cumulatively), a fine fee and a repossession fee.
