Hello,

I am an hbo subscriber and an Amazon prime subscriber with an older smart TV. The hbo max app isn’t on my tv but I would still like to watch some of the available hbo shows through my Amazon prime tv app. I can’t figure out how to link the two accounts and was hoping someone could tell me how to add my hbo account to my Amazon account.

I think part of the problem might be these are two different accounts meaning different sign-ins and so on. Because of this I can’t sign in with the same info.

In case anyone else stumbles across this thread having the same issue, I figured it out today. You sign up for Amazon Open the max app sign out Then select a sign back in using a provider Choose prime as your provider Then it will ask you to create an account to log in to the app with (in other words you don't use your Amazon information to log into the app. Nor do you use Amazon prime channels to get to the app you get to the app the regular way) If you already have an account that you're paying for set up the new account using prime as your provider and your regular email address with a new password It will then tell you that there's already an account associated with that email and it will send you a verification code to the email Into the verification code Now you have your Max shows linked to Amazon prime With a completely different login so you're not actually sharing your Amazon login with HBO (someone mentioned not trusting their ability to keep that information safe so this is good) And then you access your HBO shows through the app like you normally would

All u have to do once you sign up for HBO/MAX (no matter where u signed up) is, go to your Prime app (make sure you're already logged in on your tv) and at the very top of the screen when u log in, it shows home, movies, etc, scroll all the way over to the 2nd to the last icon (HBO/MAX) and click on that. It separates prime from HBO. It's all under one app. No need to pay for 2 subscriptions. Found this all by accident! Hope this helps!

A family member created a seat in her MAX account. I use her username and password. I have my own Prime subscription. If I attempt to add the Max account into Prime will I mess things up for my family member. Only asking so I don't have to leave the Prime app to access Max content.

Won't work. To access Max through Prime, you need to have subscribed through Amazon.

Can't be done. Also use the max app so much better than the prime video app especially with the new update.

If you are already subscribed in a bundle you would have to cancel it. The max add on for Amazon prime video is a separate subscription from the hbo Disney max bundle.
