I’ve been contacted by an Amazon recruiter for a role and the first screening is also scheduled. I got PIPed from Amazon 5 years ago and in my knowledge a PIP means not eligible for rehire. If this is true, I am wondering how it didn’t get flagged for the recruiter in the first place. Will this be surfaced later in the process if I pass the interviews?
I work at Amazon India’s Hyderabad office. My performance was low for the past few months, and I was put on an observation plan in mid-May. Although my performance improved, it didn’t meet my manager's expectations becuase My scores were compared weekly with India team's average, while others were compared monthly. If i compare on monthly basis , my performance was only about 2-3% below the team's average after being put in observation.
Starting this August, I was put on a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) and asked to perform above the team average in productivity on a weekly basis. I can perform above the team average if compared on monthly, but since i am being compared on a weekly basis i might fail because my performance was lower this week than the teams average.I’m worried that failing to meet this week's target might cause me to fail the PIP. (Side note:- since they are reducing the team even top performers who were FTC have not had their contracts extended.)
I want to know if i apply for job at amazon in same department :-
-
Can it be a possibility to get rehired in the future if I fail the PIP due to performance issues ?
-
if I am reassigned at the time of PIP, will it affect my chances of being re-hired? Will i be blacklisted for lifetime ? What can I do now to improve my chances so that i can get rehired again in the future?
any one from amazon india please tell. Or any HR from amazon (anywhere )have any info regarding this please help.
Also how can being put in PIP affect me finding new job ? During bg check for new company will amzon tell that i was not performing well so i was fired?
Wondering if there are companies that would rehire you after a few years
Edit: it's not Amazon
What happens if you don’t sign? I understand if you sign you’re not allowed to work at Amazon for five years but what happens if you don’t sign and just walk out?
