Amazon CS lead here. 4 years is 4 years whether you graduated or not. Amazon is very good at linking associated accounts. In order for them not to detect a second account you would have to do the following. Change your credit card legal name, never use your billing address again, never use your shipping address again, get a new telephone number, get a new phone (since they capture device fingerprint/IMEI), use a different ISP, use a different web browser (browser fingerprinting due to browser configuration), and there are still other accounts attributes they use. I take calls from customers who are upset that their new accounts keep being closed minutes after they are made. More on reddit.com

Is Amazon Prime the same as Kindle Unlimited and Amazon Music?
No. Kindle Unlimited is a different service offering thousands of e-books for the price of a monthly subscription. It’s independent of Prime, though Prime does include Prime Reading, which is similar, but with a far smaller library.
Amazon Music, meanwhile, is free with Prime, but it’s a different product to Amazon Music Unlimited. The library is the same and both are ad-free but the quality is capped at 320kbps, it has more limited Alexa voice commands and music can only be listened to on ‘shuffle’ mode, which means it’s not great for selecting specific tracks.
Prime subscribers can upgrade to Music Unlimited for less, however, with a £1 per month discount. That means it costs £10.99, rather than the usual £11.99.

Hello,
I've been using Prime for students for years when I was a student, but I graduated a few years ago, and Amazon kept letting me using it because ( I assume ) the last time I did the validation was on my last year, and that gave me like 4 more years of eligibility. In the recent years, I've been pausing my Prime whenever think I'm not gonna need it, and I resume when I want to buy something, and they only charge me $4.99 CAD.
Last month, I resumed my Prime, and my renewal date is at the end of October 2024.
However, I've just got an email from Amazon saying that my Prime for Students discount rate will end on October xx, 2024. On that date, your Prime membership will automatically renew at the full-price rate.
and they are giving me the option to re-validate ( but I'm no longer a student ).
My question is :
on the website, I still have the option to switch to Annual Prime for students and pay $49 . If I do that, do I get to keep what I paid for, and they won't change it for me during the year and charge me the regular price ?
