Note: For sales tax In my state, which is FL, think it's a combination of State and county tax, state sales tax is 6% and county is 7.5%.
I purchased one of those 1tb Xbox expansion cards. Before I bought it, I would try to check for price changes as often as I can, normally the prices would be 219.99 at physical stores and I would hope for a decrease, then realized that the price wasn't going to get lower anytime soon and decided to accept the $219.99.
I recently checked at my local Walmart and the price went up to $220.99, I decided not to buy from Walmart and checked Amazon for a cheaper price.
I found one for $219.99 and decided to buy it, but there was a $15.00 tax and it raised the total to $234.99. now I'm wondering if I bought it from Walmart, would the tax be any different?
I'm from the UK VAT is 20% all over the country (and always included in the sticker price), the price it says on Amazon.co.uk is the price you pay. I know in the US in physical stores tax is not on the sticker price and you never really know what you're going to pay until you get to the checkout.
I assume Amazon.com prices are also sans tax but how does it work? Do you pay a different total depending on the state you live, the state you ship it to or do you pay the sales tax of the state where Amazon HQ is (Washington?) or something else?
