Corinne. As an AG fan since 2001, I've seen a lot of GOTYs, but when it comes to Corinne, AG really put their all into every single aspect of her release, giving us: -a new face mould -a tie in with the wellie wisher & mini bitty baby lines that actually made sense -a cool, original big ticket item -much needed diversity by featuring a Chinese American character for the first time since our one and only Ivy who unfortunately was only a side character -most importantly, a story that not only has plenty of fun moments and important life lessons for kids (it's not your responsibility to make everyone around you happy all the time, you don't have to avoid conflict to maintain healthy relationships) but it also addressed racism, classism, and microaggressions in an age appropriate way for the target demographic. Seriously, I think it's AG's best book since Claudie's. I feel like with the other GOTYs, there's always at least one element that feels like AG was going through the motions, but I really don't get that with Corinne. More on reddit.com
