[Advice] Angle grinder buying (mainly for concrete)

It might be helpful if you more completely described the project(s) you are working on. If you are grinding for a long periods of time and have easy access to electricity, a corded model makes more sense. Metabo makes very nice grinders but I'm assuming this is a one time project and not something you are making a career of, so spending more might not be beneficial. I would also remind you to make sure you are using dust extraction and the appropriate PPE, silica dust is nothing to fool around with. More on reddit.com

Is there an angle grinder disc that will get old carpet adhesive off concrete?

Yes I do it everyday. I’m a concrete polisher. Go to Home Depot or Lowe’s they have DYI diamond cup wheels in both 4” and 7”. I use them sometimes but there are better wheels for the trades. About 80.00 for the 7” and 50.00 for the 4”. Their orange in color. Knock that shit right off there. Remember to keep your cup wheel flat against the concrete. Work it back and forth in a feathering motion. More on reddit.com

Best Dustless Angle Grinder Set Up

Each grinder manufacturer makes their own proprietary grinder shrouds that probably work really well, but are pretty pricey. I have a few grinder shrouds from DasTool (generic Chinese brand) that actually have worked well for me. I use them on Metabo grinders, but they should fit most models. I've used this shroud for floor prep with a diamond cup wheel, and with a good dust collector it collected virtually all the dust. I've used it indoors several times and there was no visible dust cloud or lingering dust in the air afterwards. The key to getting good dust collection is you gotta get the shroud to fit well on your grinder. Took a bit a fandangeling on my end to get it to fit my grinder properly. If the shroud is loose, it will slide up and let dust out. Its gotta be installed tight with the brushes below the grinding surface. https://imgur.com/S0KsOM2 More on reddit.com
