1: you dont have to have others connected, it might make you set up a family though to buy it 2: that means that you can buy the offer within the mentioned period, if you buy it it would be free for 3 months from date of purchase

So there's a family plan for about $15/month that lets you share your Apple Music and Apple TV subscriptions with up to 6 people, but there's also something called "Family Sharing" which allows you to share your subscriptions with other members of your family. Whats the difference here? Why would somebody pay the $15/month when family sharing exists? Is there a catch?
