Im torn between Series 5 and Series 6. I’m looking for a 44mm Silver SS model, but I’m not sure which series to get. What do people recommend?

Buying a refurbished watch with 3000 difference between 5 nd 6 series!! ₹9,800 vs 12,800 respectively!! Which is better deal to buy?
So i'm looking to buy an apple watch and i dont know if i should get the 5 or 6.
I can get the series 5 with apple care for 489.97
or
I can get the series 6 for 529.99
Any advice on which i should get?
i would say 6 if you have the money(because it will last more till your next upgrade).. if not, 5
I’d get the 6. You’re not saving much money on getting a 5, and while it’s true the upgrades aren’t crazy-huge, I do think they’re worth 40 bucks. Even if you don’t care about the new sensor, the 6 has better battery life and an extra year of software support. For that slim of a price difference, I say you might as well get the 6.
Basically title, can’t really decide, i cam get the series 5 for about 70€ cheaper than the series 6 same spec, what do you guys think i should get?
Series 6 vs Series 5:
-
20% faster performance
-
Blood oxygen sensor
-
Always-on display is up to 2.5x brighter in dimmed mode
-
U1 chip
-
Always-on altimeter
-
Can connect to 5Ghz WiFi
-
Comes in four new colors (blue and red aluminum & glass, gold and graphite stainless steel & sapphire crystal)
-
Will likely receive software updates longer from today
Edit to add:
-
Charges faster (full charge in <90 minutes)
-
Better battery life during certain workouts (e.g. indoor and outdoor runs)
-
Doesn’t come with power adapter except for Edition and Hermès versions
S6.
I want to buy new Apple Watch in stainless steel, can’t decide between Series 5 Refurbished($579) and Series 6($800) Does anybody have an experience of buying refurbished stainless steel watches?
Yah when buying used just make sure it’s iCloud unlock and you practically get the same features
Besides brighter always on, oximeter, faster charging, and different colors
I am debating the same thing. Because the shipping times are so long right now my plan is to go into the store I’m sometime on Friday and check out the new one. I’m not sure if I’ll like the graphite over the black. If they have it in stock and I like to color I’ll go with the new one, if not I’ll buy the refurbished.
To me the key updates for the 6 are Blood Ox, SiP update, W1 chip, and improved screen brightness. All in I’m not sure it’s enough to make it the 6 a clear winner over the 5. But for the sake of future proofing I think it’s worth it, as I plan to own it until it breaks or is no longer supported.
Hey all,
Should I get a series 5 which is about 100 cheaper than a series 6? (I don’t currently have a smart watch or have ever) Or is it worth the difference to pay for the latest features - thoughts all?
Cheers.
Depends if you really want the blood oxygen feature. Might be useful in today’s world. I just bought my first watch (S6!).
We, the interwebz overlords, can not tell you a models value to yourself.
You know the option differences between models, you know the price of both models, you decide
Apple Watch 5 or 6?
Hello, I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’ve been researching as much as possible on the current versions of the Apple Watch. I have came to the conclusion of making a purchase of the Apple Watch 5 over the 3 and 4.
I’m was wondering if anyone could give me details on the Apple Watch 6. I’m under the impression that’s it going to be released this year, however, I’m not sure. Will the Apple Watch 6 have a ton of new features over the Apple Watch 5?
As a side note the Apple watches are currently 50% percent off at my cell phone provider. So I would be saving quite a bit of money by purchasing a Apple Watch 5 at this moment.
So—— Apple Watch 5 for 50 percent off now. Or would it be better to wait for the Apple Watch 6 because of new features? I would assume it’s going to be a better idea to get the Apple Watch 5 now and save money because it’s doesn’t appear the watches get many upgrades each year.
If you get 50% off then buy now and then buy the new one when it gets released and resell the old one at 50% discount (your buy price). Win-win.
Thus far the Watch gets refreshed every September. No one knows anything factual about the next model until Apple announces it.
Get the Series 5 now, upgrade later if it's worth it to you.
I’m really not sure whether or not it would be worth it to upgrade.
Absolutely not! I love my S5! Just like all tech, not every release is going to be a significant upgrade, with iPhones, X to XS is nowhere near as big of an upgrade as say, a 7 to XS would be. Same goes to for the AW; the S3 to S5 upgrade was pretty significant, S5 to S6, not so much! That’s not me shitting on the S6 or anything, that’s just how tech upgrades go! I’ll for sure be sticking with my S5 for another 2 years!
that is 100% about if you need/want the features of the S6.
I was an Apple Watch user from series 1 up until series 7 or so when I switched to Garmin.
Since late summer I feel like I have lost much of my will to be active and I’m just tired.
In my search for motivation I’ve been thinking about the Apple Watch rings and if trying to focus on filling them each day might help.
I’ve been looking at just picking up a new SE (to also get one of the nice looking Nike bands). But I just checked out the used market and saw that a used series 6 for example was about half the price of a new SE.
Is the series 6 still usable today? Would I be able to take advantage of the new watch os features for sleep and training load for example?
how bad would a 75% battery capacity be? The seller states that it still lasts for a day but I suspect that’s not if I do any workouts?
Edit: I picked up a series 7 with 83% battery for about the same price. Good to be back 😎
So I'm planning a late Christmas gift for my mom and She's been eyeing to pair up her iPhone with an Apple watch. I've been saving up for a year so I have approximately 500 USD (if converted).
I'm entirely new between the Apple Watch models so I don't really know what to choose? So please help me ;-;
Here are my questions:
What is the best model budget wise?
Is it worth it to buy the series 7? does the added dollars worth it?
Are the newer series have a noticable to the older series to choose it from the latter?
Thank you all so much guys!
You are the only one who can answer that. The screen on the 7 is noticeably bigger. If I were you and money is a thing I would recommend buying a used watch. You will get almost the same thing for a lot less money.
I went for the SE because it still has a good depth of features and a more friendly price tag. I’ve been using mine for a week and a bit and I cannot fault it whatsoever. I wouldn’t hesitate in going for that again. I would love the 7 but the price isn’t to my liking just yet.
Hi guys, I recently got a second-hand apple watch series 3 with a battery health of 97%. However, the watch is slow, takes very long to charge and dies quite quickly for me.
I was considering getting either a second-hand series 5 or series 6. Any suggestions on which one I should go for? I would be getting a 40 mm non-cellular version
Getting my sister an Apple Watch and I was going to get her an SE because she said she doesn't care for AOD (she currently has a Galaxy Watch4 and she has AOD off) but I'm seeing used Series 5 online (Amazon/eBay/Swappa) for cheaper than what a new SE would be and used Series 6 for a bit more ($25-$50). Do y’all suggest just getting a new SE from Apple or look for a used 5/6 that would be around the same price range?
I’m looking at a used Apple Watch Series 5 for $100 used as my first entry-level smartwatch. Looking to primarily use it for fitness and sleep tracking, but I imagine I will find more things to love about it.
Is it still worth it to snag one at this price point? I’m primarily worried about the battery as it’s a used watch at 87% battery capacity. Trying to decide if it’s worth it to bite the bullet and just get a new Series 7 for $300.
Hello friends. I want to have an Apple Watch, track calories( wich seems to be really accurate), get iphone notifications and more. Does the series 5 still a good option? Or just go for the 8 or wait for the 9. What is the use you give to the Apple Watch?
Is the series 5 worth it? I have a friend willing to sell theirs to me for 175. It’s the series 5 44mm.
I really want to buy an Apple Watch. I was looking around for a second hand series 7 which is almost exactly what I want. But my friend offered me a series 5 for 140 euros. Now I looked online and saw that it still runs the latest os and isn’t a big difference with 7. Should I buy it? What are the pro and cons compared to series 7?
Title, both are used but the SE cost 12$ more. I like the AOD on S5 but the SE is newer so I assume that would work for few more years? First time buying AW so would be cool to hear you guys advice!
i’m curious to find out how functional the older models are. i have a series 6 and it’s still pretty good (i know it’s not old, but that’s part of the point of my question because i don’t know what really qualifies an apple watch as old, outside of it being discontinued of course.
anyone still has a series 4 for example? is it still quick? what are the most major issues you face, if at all?
