We’re about to come into a little bit of money and have budgeted $15k for new furniture for the master bedroom, our toddler’s bedroom, and our living room. We got a 20% off coupon for Ashley in the mail but I’m not familiar with that brand. In the past we’ve bought from The Room Place and Bob’s Discount Furniture and have been relatively satisfied although they don’t seem to last very long. Is Ashley Furniture any better?
We’re located outside of Chicago and definitely want to see and touch the furniture before we buy it.

In case this matters, Ashley Furniture was fined nearly $2 million by OSHA in 2015 for willful and repeated violations of worker safety at its Arcadia, WI location. At the time it was the largest OSHA fine ever, not sure if that’s still true. Out of 4500 employees, there were 1000 injuries. In short, it’s garbage and they treat workers like garbage.

Ashley and Bobs are about the same quality level - crap. I always tell people to go to Ikea if they're on a budget. You might pay a little more than Bob's or Ashley, but you get MUCH better quality for the money.

I'm in the market for bedroom furniture. Found the Starmore set at Ashley that I liked. Under $2500 for the king bed frame, two night stands, and a dresser. Not a terrible price and the furniture LOOKS nice. But holy cow have I gotten discouraged after reading the many horror stories about that store on this sub. Has anyone, anyone at all, had a good experience with them. At this point it very much feels like I'm in denial and am just searching for a reason to hit that buy button.

Years ago I purchased a sofa set and it's still in great condition. I prefer RC Willey to Ashley when it comes to bedroom and dining furniture. Also, RC Willey customer service is easier to deal with. If the price point is right and the furniture is what you like go for it. The internet is always full of bad stories because happy customers don't need to vent or complain.

We purchased a couch and temurpedic bed a couple years ago during a promotion where we were supposed to get about $1300 back in gift cards. They ended up sending us about $120 and saying that we weren't owed anything more. And the couch started falling apart about a year later. Will never shop there again.

I know Ashley gets hate...I know everyone loves the 4seats.com etc..Omega seatcratft etc..
I have a great possible deal on the above linked loveseat. Ashely sucks, my experience in the Midwest is torn. Yea they're $600 couches will fall apart in 2-3 years but I've had luck with a set of midrange sofas. I know nothing however of the Motors or mechanics of a powered sofa.
Just wondering if anyone had this loveseat recliner or sofa could comment.

If it's anything more than $800 per seat, your money is just simply better spent on something from Valencia or Octane. With that said, if you can get proof that they use genuine leather, and you really like the comfort after trying it in the store, there's probably not too much downside at that point.

I am looking at this same set. I'm thinking about the sofa for now, maybe a love seat as well. The thing I like the most over some of the exclusive theater seat manufacturers is the color. Gray is going to be a much easier sell to the wife. My biggest concern is the cover material. Does it hold up? Will it peel and flake like the high priced bonded trash that I'm replacing? Any thoughts or updates would be truly appreciated.
