ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WIFI II is an ATX board, you need an ITX board for the Formd. You might have some lucky finding the ITX Asus B550-I available second hand but if not there are other options that also work too. Gigabyte's Aorus AX (ITX) is decent, although I think the cpu socket is a little higher than on the Asus. More on reddit.com

So I decided to replicate the OptimumTech 5800X3D build, and noticed the Asus B550-I Strix mainboard is no longer available. There are alternatives with different suffixes (B550-F etc), but they seem to have different headsinks and layout. I'm especially interested in the "ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WIFI II", as Wifi 6E is interesting to me.
I want to make sure that nothing is blocking the Alpenföhn Black Ridge, can I choose any variant or are there known incompatibilities? Are there other mainboards that have some kind of advantage or good reputation in this community? I'm using the OptimumTech build as a template for simplicity and "proven to work", but I'm open to alternatives for all parts.

As mentioned by others you will have to get an itx board to fit in the formd. These are usually indicated by an "I" suffix. However, the AM4 platform has reached the end of its life cycle. And - especially since itx is more of a niche product - most am4 itx boards aren't produced anymore and very sporadically available, often at increased prices. So you have two options: keep searching for a b550/x570 itx board and make sure that the blackridge will fit move to am5 or intel equivalent build. For am5 especially the 7000x3d CPUs will be released soon. This will come at a higher price but better performance and future compatibility. You will have to look for a alternative cooling option though.
