Did the house builder put a sink faucet on a bathtub? It takes 90 minutes to fill the bathtub at max open. Is it possible the valve just isn't fully open? Maybe the water line isn't proper capacity? Just debating before I open the access or pay someone, before the point of no return.
Hello there. I recently made a trip to a local plumbing store that specialized in sales of kitchen bathroom faucets, tubs, lights and etc. One of the sales rep insisted that they are "better" than big box stores. She said it's because even though they sell the exact same models and makes, the fittings inside the faucets at their stores are metal and big box stores are plastic and are of a better quality. Kinda sounded like a bunch of BS. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this at all or know if there's any truth to this? Thanks
I'm looking for some help with my bathtub faucets seen in the photos. I've got a decent amount of homeowner experience fixing plumbing issues (pretty much all things that you can do to a toilet, replaced a few sinks, etc) but am by no means a plumber. The house was built in 2001 and these faucets have leaked on and off pretty much since I moved in back in 2016. Been thinking about replacing the cartridges for a while, but I've never done that before. However, now the handle that switches the flow between the main faucet and the handheld has seized. In my attempt to turn the handle, the plastic in the cartridge crumbled. Now I have a couple of problems that I need advice on.

The handles are corroded onto the cartridges. I've removed the screws with an Allen wrench and any wiggling I do results in the faucets leaking.

I don't know how to identify what kind of cartridge to purchase. I'd prefer to know before I pulled it for various reasons. Is there a way to figure this out? It is a Aker/Swirlbath tub, if that helps.

And most frustrating, the builder in their infinite wisdom put the access panel close the the wall. This lets me get to the pump and electrical, but makes access to the plumbing pretty impossible (See photos). Reaching in blind, my 5'8" arms are not long enough to reach the shutoff valves (circled in red). Does anyone have experience or advice reaching and turning inaccessible valves? Am I doomed to cut a second access panel?

Fortunately, it's a Delta faucet. Stems are RP25513. Seats and springs, RP4993. Diverter stem is RP19653. Everything should be serviceable from up top.
