Are battery-powered LED strips safe?
Please be careful not to use higher voltages to power the LED strip, as this can damage the LED strip or even cause a fire.
Can I power a 12V LED strip with a 9V battery?
How do I connect an LED strip to a battery?
Step 1: First, locate the positive and negative terminals on the battery. There will be a plus sign (+) next to the positive terminal and a minus sign (-) next to the negative terminal.
Step 2: Locate the corresponding terminals on the LED strip; the positive terminal on the LED strip will be labeled with a plus sign, (+) and the negative terminal will be labeled with a minus sign (-).
Step 3: Once you have found the correct terminals, connect the positive terminal of the battery to the positive terminal of the LED strip, and then connect the negative terminal of the battery to the negative terminal of the LED strip.
Pretty much the title. I could, hypothetically, hard wire them but I really prefer not to for a couple of reasons, unless the general consensus is that the battery operated LED lights are just truly not worth it.
My goals are to simply install the strip lights under and above the kitchen cabinets. Ideally, they would also be able to connect with my Google Home ecosystem.
Just wondering what the community thinks are the best options for this scenario.
I'm looking to add an LED strip light under my kitchen island and there is no way to hard wire it without removing the countertop so I'm looking to have it battery powered and run off z wave, zigbee or WiFi so I can automate it to turn on based on motion sensors or timing. Does anyone have any recommendations?
