This whole subreddit is traumatizing. I was ready to pull the trigger on a Leesa Sapira Chill hybrid mattress but realized it was shorter than I wanted and then getting cold feet about not being able to try it. Then we went into a store over Labor Day and they had us lay on the sensor thing and pointed us into a beauty rest black (a little over 3k, I think it’s the CX series)

Then I read a couple reviews.. sags in a couple months, so uncomfortable, screw beautyrest… all the fun stuff to make you second guess a $3K purchase. So here I lay, on my 10 year old posturpedic euro/pillow whatever top with two nice valleys for my wife and I to roll into.

I need a new bed. I’m getting analysis paralysis. I laid on the mattress in the store. It seemed nice enough. WTF. Help.

I spent weeks researching brands I wanted. Decided on a new beauty rest black. The salesman said it was a 2025 edition so it’s brand brand new. I got the firm on because I love firm mattresses. And oh my god. I have not slept a wink since I got it. It’s HORRIBLE. And was expensive as hell. I wake up in pain every morning and I wake up in the middle of the night with pain. It’s too firm. Usually firm mattress still have some comfort. No. Not at all. I bought a 2 inch latex topper. And it didn’t even help. I just wanna warn anyone considering it. Also, the sales guy told me beauty rest blacks come “pre broken in”??? So I don’t think this is a break in period thing. I tried to reach out to beauty rest to confirm them and surprise surprise they ignored all 3 of my emails :) horrible. Stay safe out there.
