Went Back and Watched Every Game of Thrones Scene that features Bella Ramsey
I despised virtually every part of the writing and directing of S2. But I actually feel a little bit sorry for Bella because her role was to play a snarky, insufferable, selfish, know-it-all, rude, obnoxious nightmare of a person who was a lesbian. The woke writers somehow thought that the audience would love that, and they were dead wrong. We hated her character, not because she is a lesbian, but because of her behavior. I think she can act, but this was not the right role for her, and I don't think anyone playing the role as written and directed had a chance in hell. More on reddit.com

big fucking deal, most of us had for years. More on reddit.com
This scene was so fucking stupid. She really charged at the giant and killed it!!! Lyanna mormont writing is everything wrong with D&D's approach to the later seasons.
An undead mindless zombie picking up its food to play with it was hilariously stupid. But that was the only way Lyanna could get a kill so they had to force it More on reddit.com
[NO SPOILERS] it's kind of unbelievable but Bella Ramsey, who plays Lyanna Mormont, has never acted before Game of Thrones.
I'm almost done rewatching and I have to say I need more of mace tyrell trying to sing to people. He's some serious comic relief that I feel I need just a bit more of More on reddit.com

The reason Lady Mormont works is because it's a well written role with a compelling character arc. Young Bella is asked to do very little other than recite a line or cast a knowing glance. The character never shows weakness or doubt and dies in a heroic manner. Good casting.
Bella is bad as Ellie not only due to sloppy and sometimes unintentionally comedic writing - but also because the role requires acting chops. Bella Ramsey can't act their way out of a paper bag. Bella not only struggles to convey a convincing Ellie but struggles to resemble a convincing human at times.
This is why they didn't cast the fat kid from The Goonies that does the truffle shuffle as Batman, because it wouldn't have worked.

Partly because B cast and lead expectations are different.Ppl emotionally invested into the story felt insulted as they know the character to the bone. Also reason why fallout works well as characters are customised, eliminating MC expectations.

Game of Thrones' Bella Ramsey - Nottingham Culture
A lot of the stuff you do at Workshop has an emphasis on keeping things natural and real. Do you think that helped you with your character in Game of Thrones? Yeah. Whenever I became Lyanna, it didn’t feel weird telling these grown men what to do.
